Bratty Lolita

This is a character I've been developing for a little series of shorts I have in my head - She's part of a group of lolitas. My favorite part of lolita fashion is the colorful people that participate in the culture - And I'll guiltily admit that I've got a soft spot for the drama.

This particular girl keeps bringing her dog to meetups, who despite being adorable is poorly trained and makes a mess and causes a ruckus. They're simple, but I  can't wait to flesh these ideas out!

Little Dancer Doodle

Might've made an inking breakthrough right after I made this so I'd like to take another stab at it. Just a little doodle trying to make use of heavy black n white!

Roxy Tribute

The night before last my boyfriend's little pomchi, Roxy, passed away. She was a sweet little girl but was about 14 years old I think, so it was her time. They had rescued her from the streets when she was younger and nursed her back to health. She lived a life full of love and she got to go to the beach and mountains all the time. I drew a picture for her yesterday:

I really loved her and have been carrying a polaroid of her around in my car for the past few years. I'll miss her. Rest in peace Roxy!

30 Day Drawing Challenge! Day 1: Me

Hi! Long time no see! I've been very busy with both work and some other projects. I'm currently trying to make my portfolio stronger which is always kind of awful.

I saw that my friend James is doing a 30 Day Drawing Challenge which is exactly what I need these days to get my mind off of stress while tricking myself into being productive. Here's my Day 1 drawing, a self-portrait:

Here's me being shy and anxious and hiding inside my hair. I drew myself with my ideal tan haha. Yay Summer~

For my next drawing I should probably do something complete... The last time I got my portfolio reviewed the main critique was that I don't have many "finished" drawings. Today's drawing would definitely be an example... Oops.

See you tomorrow hopefully! BYE!

Appudeito

It's been a bit slow at work recently so I've had a lot of time to draw on my fancy Cintiq~!

There's this song by 2 Chainz where he goes "pull up to the scene with my ceiling missing" but I misheard it the first few times I heard it differently:

I think I wanna continue with this joke using more 2 Chainz tracks.

A doodle of me in my idle habitat :

And some ~concept art~ for a multimedia project I'm toying with (ambitious...) I'm not too into it, I feel like I wanna simplify it a bit and make it more cartoony. I'd like to find a place in between cartoony and sexy/fashiony.

ANYWAY that's my life right now! I got an end date for my current gig so I gotta hustle.

Fanart and Caricature Practice

Right now I'm taking a character design class from Steve Silver (awesome). He told us he got his start by doing caricature and that it's a great way to practice character design. I can totally see why - It's great practice in breaking down someone's face/stature. You can challenge yourself to get as much likeness as you can with the fewest lines. I've actually got an ongoing list of people I'd like to try caricatures of.

Today I did this one. See if you can guess who they are. Hint: They're badass brothers!

Something I'd like to improve on is cleaning up my drawings... My overdrawings always looks like crap! I don't know why.
